What’s included in our pre-purchase inspection & report
Hull & structure - inspection of hull integrity, decks, fittings, bulkheads, frames, stringers etc. Moisture meter readings and percussion testing used to identify defects. We inspect all hull materials (fibreglass, steel, alloy, timber, carbon fibre, composite).
Engines & machinery - Visual checks, operational checks (during sea trial), engine hours, maintenance history. Oil and coolant levels checked. Underwater running gear inspected during the haul out.
Electrical systems - wiring, batteries, lighting, navigation electronics. Compliance with International standards. Bilge pumps checked.
Plumbing: Freshwater, sanitation, and greywater systems. Sea cocks checked and skin fittings inspected.
Safety equipment - Inventoried and expiry dates checked where applicable.
Rigging & sails (if applicable) - Visual inspection of rigging from deck level only. Sails inspected visually from deck level only during sea trials. Deck gear and running rigging inspected.
Sea trial - vessel handling, propulsion, performance. Steering and engine checks. Navigational aids tested. Sails deployed (if applicable).
